What the cnc nesting line enables
The CNC nesting line automates the cutting process of panel materials and enables better utilization of every sheet. Using nesting software, components are optimally arranged on the panel to minimize waste and maximize the number of finished parts produced from each material.
Before cutting, the system can automatically apply labels containing barcodes, dimensions, and information for each individual component. This ensures full traceability throughout the entire production process — from cutting, through edgebanding and drilling, to assembly or packaging.
After labeling, the panel is transferred to the CNC nesting machine, where it is automatically positioned, secured by a vacuum system, and processed according to the programmed operations. Once cutting is completed, the finished components are transferred to an outfeed table or conveyor system while the next panel is prepared for processing.

CNC nesting line configurations
The CNC nesting line is designed according to the required production capacity, available factory space, and the level of automation required by the customer. The basic concept includes multiple CNC nesting machines, typically starting from two machines, with the possibility of expanding the system to three, four, five, six, or more nesting machines.
The main differences between configurations involve material loading methods, labeling systems, transportation systems, robotic loading solutions, cantilever systems, and the level of automated control. Depending on production requirements, the line can be configured with automatic labeling, robotic panel loading, multi-station cantilever solutions, cantilever loading systems, or advanced layouts with multiple nesting machines and centralized software control.
In configurations with automatic labeling, panels are marked before cutting with barcodes, dimensions, and part information, enabling complete traceability throughout subsequent production stages. In robotic loading configurations, a robot automatically picks up and positions the panels, reducing manual handling and creating a more stable process. Multi-station and cantilever solutions improve material preparation, accelerate workflow, and minimize waiting time between operations.
For larger production facilities, the line can be configured as an advanced system with multiple CNC nesting machines, automatic labeling, robotic or cantilever loading, conveyor systems, and centralized control. This provides a fast, stable, and organized cutting process while enabling integration with edgebanding, drilling, sorting, and packaging operations.
Software control and optimatization
The CNC nesting line operates through a centralized control system and cutting optimization software. The software organizes component layouts on the panel, generates machining programs, and maximizes material utilization.
Depending on the configuration, the system can support barcode workflows, parts lists, multiple file formats, and integration with existing design and manufacturing software solutions.
Capacity
Production capacity depends on the selected configuration, material type, panel dimensions, number of machining operations, nesting optimization efficiency, and overall production organization.
Advanced configurations with multiple CNC nesting machines, automatic labeling, and optimized material flow can achieve a capacity of approximately 150–200 panels within an 8-hour shift. Accurate capacity calculations require analysis of actual panel dimensions, typical components, cutting complexity, loading and unloading times, and the desired level of automation.
